Château La Bastide rouge 2001, A.C. Corbières.

Colour: deep red with purple nuances.
Nose: expressive, with many nuances of ripe and sweet black and red fruit (brambles and berries), some white pepper, warm, creamy, some richness and a touch of freshness.
Taste: fresh and also warm, some concentration, with succulent ripe fruit, some "charnu" (meatiness) nice balance between roundness, ripe and mild tannins and freshness.
Finish: medium long, soft, round, with warmth and some sweetness of the ripe fruit (brambles and berries, again a whiff of white pepper, mild tannins.

* A well made, easy to drink red Corbières, offering many impressions of delicious, ripe, sweet fruit, some concentration and just a touch of freshness.

- Very good drinking now, will probably keep for one or two years, but might lose some of its attractive fruit eventually. I doubt if the structure (tannins & acidity) of this wine permits cellaring.

- Good and very honest example of Corbières, rounder, more fruit driven than the majority of red Corbières.
