Château Le Clou rouge 2004, A.C. Bergerac. **HERITAGE WINE**
color:
Dark red with no purple.
Nose:
intense, warm, fruity, earthy, ripe, soft and juicy red and black
fruit, some depth and complexity, clean and honest.
Taste:
round, supple, medium bodied, medium intensity, mild but fresh acidity,
juicy mid palate with lots of spicy, earthy and ripe fruit, a hint of
rustic tannins provides tension and balance.
Finish:
moderately long, supple, juicy, nice ripe fruit, earthy nuances,
some spices and also some tannins balancing this wine and providing
terroir-character.
* Ecologically produced red Bergerac, smooth, ripe, round and juicy, strong regional (earthy) character, some complexity but also very easy on the palate with just that little tannic twist that gives this wine its perfect balance and attractive tension.
- This wine is delicious now, will not improve much over the next years, will keep until ca. 2009.
- Very nice wine from this
environment-conscious producer, also his sweet white wines are well
made, clean and well balanced.
There is enough concentration to keep the wines interesting and not too
much to make the wines difficult to drink. Produced from 60% merlot,
20%
cabernet sauvignon and 20% cabernet franc. No wood aging. Price
is quite reasonable.

- average production: ca. 8000 bottles
