Château La Bastide rouge 2000, A.C. Corbières.

Colour: medium deep red with some purple.
Nose: warm, with herbs, some spices and some ripe fruit (strawberry, cherry, cassis) touches of raisins and a nice freshness. Not complex or deep, but clear and attractive.
Taste: fresh and also warm, ripe fruit, spices, some laurel, medium bodied and medium powerful, some alcohol, earthy nuances, enough succulence to balance the tannins and acidity. Nice mouth feel.
Finish: not very long, fresh and clean, good fruit, spices, some young tannins.

* A good, sound and attractive Corbières from a serious producer (Languedoc-Roussillon). Well made wine, easy to drink, offering interesting impressions of fruit en herbs, clean and fresh, very drinkable and not tiring or heavy . Makes you reach for a second glass.

- Very good drinking now, will probably keep for a few years, but might lose its attractive fruit in a few years. I doubt if the structure of this wines permits cellaring.

- Good and very honest example of Corbières, not coarse or heavy as so many Corbières.
