Casata Monfort Pinot Grigio 2003, D.O.C. Trentino
* Subtlety, elegance, intensity, complexity, restraint, together with many clean and clear nuances of minerals, fruit, a subtle touch of caramel arranged around a strong core of acidity. Very well balanced. A wine with a noble character that is not trying to impress or seduce, but that is both highly interesting and delicious.

* An open and honest wine, with a beautiful balance between, earthy, fresh fruit, a mild taste with a viscous mouth feel and ripe tannins combined with a beautiful fresh acidity providing both grip and excitement.  In style an interesting cross between an elegant Bordeaux and character full, refined Northern Italian wine.

Podere San Giorgio Bonarda vivace  2003, D.O.C. Oltrepo Pavese **HERITAGE WINE**
* An exciting combination of exuberant juicy, ripe sweet fruit (strawberry, cherry), piquant tannins, fine freshness and a juicy touch of residual sweetness. The opposing aspects piquancy, rusticity and sweetness are well balanced, giving this wine an intriguing tension. Not complex or deep, but just delicious.

Podere San Giorgio Barbera  2003, D.O.C. Oltrepo Pavese
* As straight forward as a wine can be: very fresh acidity, with lots of fresh and clean fruit (raspberries), medium body, piquant tannins, straight and honest wine, no fuss no frills. A youngster, a bit wild but with a good character.

Castel San Giorgio Barbera "Becco Giallo" 2001, D.O.C. Oltrepo Pavese **HERITAGE WINE**
* Beautiful expression of the Barbera grape: refreshing, intense, elegant, intensely fruity, spicy, a touch of piquancy, complex and concentrated. Well judged use of oak adds an extra rich and spicy dimension to this excellent wine.
