Azienda Agricola Luigi Innocenti "Ribusieri" 2005, D.O.C. Montecucco. **HERITAGE WINE**

color:  medium red with a touch of brown.
Nose:  quite expressive, fruity (cherries) and also mature with balsamic nuances (incense), pepper, some freshness, a bit phenolic, clean and a bit austere, also elegant.
Taste:  round, fresh, elegant, some juicy fruit, a touch of caramel, mature, some smoke, some phenolic nuances, ripe tannins, uplifting freshness, clean, some depth and length, nice compact core, excellent balance.
Finish: quite long, good intensity, clean and beautiful cherry fruit, some spices, smoke, earthy nuances, good concentration and compact core, excellent balance.

 
* An organically produced mature red wine with that special classy Sangiovese character: fresh, elegant, compact, a bit austere, spicy and earthy, pure, with nice cherry fruit, some smoke and balsamic nuances.
An excellent alternative for Chianti.

 - Drink this wine from now until I guess 2009.

- Sangiovese wines sometimes can offer so much. Do not look for big, rich and opulent wines (except some Brunello's), but expect something more austere, more fresh, with always that piquant tannic twist somewhere in the taste. Wines that are generally not too easy on the palate, but if well produced not too difficult as well, but wines that can provide tension and a clean and elegant style with earth, fruit and spices or balsamic nuances when mature. Wines that do not come to you but wines demanding initiative from you. Wines that can reward you when you invest attention and perseverance. This is one of them, I always find some similarities in such wines with classic red Bordeaux. When you work, you will be rewarded.
