Colour: dark red with no purple left..
Nose: good expression of ripe black fruit and raisins, warm, soft and spicy vanilla nuances, elegant but also nicely concentrated. Starts to become more mature now, expressive fruit is substituted by more complex earthy impressions.
Taste: medium powerful, with good tannins, still a bit closed-up, but already quite soft, with spicy impressions of black fruit, some caramel, vanilla and a hint of liquorice, good acidity, providing some elegance and balance to the wine.
Finish: not very long, medium powerful, with a touch of warmth and sweetness, good fruit, vanilla, spices and a whiff of white pepper, nice (elegant) acidity.

* Very nice dry red wine offering a lot of ripe, black fruits, some spicy vanillin of wood ageing, supple and round style with enough character to please the more discerning wine lover, a real bargain.

- Can be drunk now, will keep till 2005.

- Very good wine making in a promising region of Portugal results in this clever mix of modern and authentic style. Really "Portuguese" in aroma's (piquant earthy fruit), quite international in taste (supple, good mid palate, balanced).  The other positive point is the very attractive price.
